For Tasting Tea, a brand celebrated for its unique tea collections, Studio Matti undertook a comprehensive branding initiative in 2021 that encompassed not just a fresh identity but an immersive online presence and innovative packaging design. Our goal was to encapsulate the essence of Tasting Tea's diverse flavors through artistic expressions and to offer tea enthusiasts a visual and tactile journey that mirrors the experiential quality of the teas themselves.

Artistic Branding: Watercolor Wonders
The branding for Tasting Tea was envisioned to reflect the delicate complexity of its tea blends. Utilizing a palette of watercolor spots that layer over each other, the design symbolically represents the variety and depth of flavors found in each blend. This artistic technique not only highlights the uniqueness of the teas but also sets Tasting Tea apart in the market, providing a visual narrative of taste and quality.


Webshop: An Immersive Digital Teahouse
The webshop for Tasting Tea is designed to transport visitors into the world of specialty teas through a unique and engaging online experience. Every element of the website, from the layout to the interactive elements, is crafted to enhance the customer's journey through the diverse tea collections, mirroring the sensory experience of tasting. The site also educates visitors on the origins and stories behind each blend, further enriching their shopping experience.

Packaging Innovation: Hand-Drawn Elegance
For the packaging of each tea collection, Studio Matti designed hand-drawn illustrations that capture the essence of the specific blends and their ingredients. The packaging not only serves as a beautiful aesthetic piece but is also functional, with every important detail—from brewing instructions to ingredient lists—integrated seamlessly into the design. This approach ensures that each package is both informative and visually appealing, enhancing the overall customer experience.

REFLECTING

Following the successful rebranding and launch of the webshop, Studio Matti collaborated with Veerle of Tasting Tea and publisher Lannoo to create "Het Thee Boek." This book further explores the art and pleasure of tea tasting, featuring beautifully detailed pages that extend the branding aesthetics into print. The collaboration was a natural progression of the branding project, allowing us to delve deeper into the culture of tea and share it with a wider audience. The project was a testament to the cohesive vision and partnership between Tasting Tea and Studio Matti, celebrating the shared passion for exceptional tea and design.
